In order to express its therapeutic potential, vitamin D needs to be activated through two physiological steps of an enzymatic nature that specifically occur in the liver (1st stage) and the kidneys (2nd stage). It has been seen that these enzymatic fractions are all magnesium-dependent.
This phenomenon tells us that without Mg, Vit. D is not activated. But beyond this, it has been observed that this intimate regulation allows our organism to release or store Vit. D itself according to our needs.
