An interesting study from a few years ago by Dr. Claude Lagarde, a French pharmacist and biologist, seems very relevant today in relation to the development of Nutraceuticals. Lagarde defined seven soils or biotypes on a physiological basis, creating a profile that she called bionutritional CHANBIO
This profile expresses the progress of cellular metabolism in relation to biological and nutritional aspects.
There are soils that express deficiencies (CHA) and those that express accumulation of toxins (BIO), while the N. soil expresses the intermediate reactive mode.
THE LAND C
Terrain C corresponds to a reduced bioavailability of anti-inflammatory fatty acids (linoleic acid, alpha-linolenic acid, gamma-linolenic acid, etc.). It is the result of a diet rich in saturated fatty acids and low in cold-pressed oils and oilseeds. Prolonged chemical therapies can also contribute to this deficiency.
To improve this deficiency through nutrition, cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil should be used for cooking.
Among vegetables, you should prefer: valerian and avocado. Among spices, prefer: basil, cumin, ginger, chili pepper.
Make daily use of almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, sunflower seeds.
Instead, limit: red meat, dairy products, margarines.
THE TERRAIN H
Terrain H is defined as Hypoglycemic. It expresses the introduction of excess carbohydrates, especially those with a high glycemic index, with consequent hyperstimulation of insulin and related hypoglycemic episodes. In particular, the subject who falls into this terrain makes excessive use of simple sugars, also present in industrial drinks, which are rapidly absorbed, causing a drastic rise in blood sugar, the classic situation defined as metabolic syndrome or insulin resistance.
Bionutritional therapy involves eliminating all refined sugars and even synthetic sweeteners (aspartame, steviol). To sweeten, use only whole cane sugar.
Prefer: whole grains and whole wheat flours foods rich in B vitamins: eggs, avocado, fish, sunflower seeds, white beans.
THE LAND A
Terrain A is the acid-demineralized one. It can be a consequence of excessive intake of foods with positive PRAL (PRAL is the acronym for Potential Renal Acid Load and is the parameter with which the acidifying capacity of foods is measured. It is positive in acidifying foods and negative in alkalinizing ones).
Terrain A is found in high-protein or low-fruit and vegetable, alkalinizing diets.
It may also be due to chronic inflammatory states, permanent conditions of hypersympathicotonia or hypercortisolemia, the latter attributable to emotional states related to tension, distress, fear, anxiety and anguish.
These situations cause the body to recall alkalizing minerals in the acidified tissues to rebalance the PH, but this causes a depletion of minerals in the tissues with obvious consequences, and furthermore these minerals that are deposited in the acidified areas tend to calcify, hence the production for example of kidney or gallstones or calcification of the arteriovenous vessels.
In the case of soil A, you should prefer alkalizing foods such as fresh vegetables (except tomatoes, asparagus and artichokes). Fruit. Dried and dried fruit (except apples and apricots). Pumpkin and sunflower seeds. Cinnamon, curry, ginger. Reduce milk and dairy products and meat, refined flours, black tea, coffee and chocolate.
LAND N
The N terrain, Neurodystonic, is the one that acts as an intermediary between the deficient terrains and those of hyperaccumulation. It is probably the consequence of an excessive wear of the neurotransmitters or a deficient alimentary introduction of their precursors. Probably this terrain is the index of the emotional component that is discharged on the somatic reality. (Psychosomatics)
From a nutritional point of view, it is necessary to favor nutrients that are important for the nervous system, such as amino acids that are precursors of dopamine and serotonin, present in meat, sheep's ricotta, and whole grains.
Foods rich in B vitamins, in particular: free-range eggs, avocado, legumes. Milk, refined sugars, and industrial sugary drinks (including industrial fruit juices) are not recommended.
LAND B
It corresponds to the baso-colitic terrain and is one of the most important or at least the most widespread of the seven terrains. It involves the entire digestive tract with particular focus on the colon. It can be related to dysbiosis, intestinal permeability (Leaky Gut Syndrome), SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth) with excessive intestinal bacterial presence, fungal infections, food intolerances.
In the specific food, raw plant foods should be favored, in particular: zucchini, pumpkin, fennel, salad, celery. Raw fruit, but avoiding cherries, apricots, dates, persimmons, because they are rich in FODMAP (Fermentable Oligo-Dimonosaccharides And Polyols). Cereals with little gluten such as basmati rice, quinoa, spelt, buckwheat, corn.
Also very useful are foods rich in AGPI (polyunsaturated fatty acids) such as sunflower seeds, walnuts, almonds, cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil, salmon, anchovies, mackerel and seafood. Avocado.
It is necessary to avoid fatty and red meats and milk and dairy products, especially fresh cheeses such as mozzarella.
LAND I
The Intoxicated terrain corresponds to the accumulation of toxins, especially at the level of the excretory organs. This can be due to the lack of elements essential to the detoxifying function of the cells, or to an overload of toxic elements such as heavy metals, pesticides, food additives, alcohol, tobacco.
In this field, endogenous toxic products are also at play due to poor primitive enzymatic function, such as in Gilbert's syndrome, or chronic inflammatory processes that increase the reactive toxin level.
Corrective therapy will make use of supplements based on taurine, cysteine, glutathione and trace elements such as manganese, selenium.
From a nutritional point of view, it is necessary to favor foods rich in sulfur compounds for their toxin-eliminating properties, for which we recommend: garlic, onion, legumes, asparagus, cabbage, avocado, watermelon, grapefruit.
Among the spices: turmeric, ginger, cardamom, cumin, chili pepper.
Avoid cis-trans saturated fats (margarines, industrially prepared dishes, industrial pastries).
LAND OR
The last of the seven terrains is the one related to oxidation or oxidative stress. The excessive presence of free radicals signals the high value of this terrain. This can be due to chronic inflammatory conditions, neoplastic pathologies and in the degeneration related to aging.
The patient with high terrain O to be rebalanced needs supplements rich in scavenger molecules, which therefore have sulfhydryl and antioxidant groups. This terrain is the one that more than others, when elevated, requires physical activity in the open air.
The diet program in this case includes the use of foods rich in antioxidants: vegetables and fruit first, vegetables consumed at the beginning of the meal. Among the fruits blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, currants, grapes. Among the cereals prefer barley, rich in SOD (Super Oxide Dismutase).
Garlic, onion, legumes. Blue fish of any kind. Among the spices: black pepper, saffron, cardamom. Also in this case, fatty and red meats and cow's milk with its derivatives, especially fresh ones, should be limited.
