Dr. Hans Heinrich Reckeweg (1905-1985) began his homeopathic studies in 1932 in Berlin and already at the beginning of his professional career, he set himself the goal of using natural medicines in a temporal context different from that of Hahnemann (1755-1843).
Reckeweg put this idea into action by creating an innovative combination of multiple homeopathic active ingredients, sometimes associated with biological materials and conventional drugs (the latter two subjected to a process of progressive dilution and dynamization), and called this new pharmacological elaboration Homotoxicological Medicine. The aim of his therapeutic approach is to stimulate the patient's bioregulatory processes in order to restore the body to physiological balance through the use of naturally derived drugs, with a progressive, delicate and effective action, to be used in any animal species: humans, small animals, horses, livestock and birds.
Homotoxicological drugs promote self-healing processes and simultaneously fight diseases, allowing the patient (in our case, an animal) to recover the correct homeostasis (biological balance) in the different districts of the organism. This is achieved by differentiating itself from classical homeopathy, characterized by the prescription of a single drug chosen on the basis of the physical and mental symptoms of the patient.
In fact, in Homotoxicology, drugs are carefully chosen and mixed to stimulate certain biological functions in order to treat specific veterinary pathologies.
Thus, while pursuing the same objectives as conventional drugs, homotoxicological drugs have a different mechanism of action, produce very rare side effects and no harmful impact on the organism. This makes them particularly suitable for animals:
- young people whose immune systems are not yet fully developed;
- elderly people with multiple pathologies;
- suffering from chronic diseases;
- affected by kidney problems (especially cats);
- with arthritic problems
- with gastrointestinal problems, etc.
Different biological systems (human and animal) are made up of complex subsystems capable of interacting with each other to maintain the animal's balance (health). In disease, many subsystems are out of balance, and the most effective and gentle way to restore this balance is to use homotoxicological drugs (multi-target), capable of regulating the altered systems thanks to their complex chemistry at low doses (under Avogadro's number) that allow to simultaneously address and restore the alterations of the organism's balance, thus allowing that multiple regulation of the pathology, typical of healing that occurs in nature.
Homotoxicology can certainly be used together with conventional medicine in a complementary and synergic way (like two rails of the same track), its drugs can be injected (vials) or administered in drops. The animal can be treated with several drugs at the same time (homotoxicological cocktail) or with a single unitary or compound drug. In the case of drops, being in a hydroalcoholic solution, they can be mixed with 2-5 milliliters of hot water, left to cool to evaporate the alcohol and then taken 2-3 times a day.
Thanks to this practical and advanced therapeutic approach, Hans Heinrich Reckeweg succeeded in his final aim, that of creating a bridge between Homeopathy and Allopathy.
